Spokane’s Governments
Spokane may refer to the city or the county of the same name - both have their own goverenance.
Spokane County
The County of Spokane is governed by the Board of County Commissioners.
City of Spokane
The City of Spokane is governed via a Mayor-Council system.
In this system, the Mayor’s office acts similar to an Executive branch of governmnet - like a State’s Governor or Country’s President.

The City Council acts as the Leglislative branch of the city government.
Spokane’s City Council consists of 7 members:
- 1 Council Presidient who is elected at-large and
- 6 Council members: 2 from each of the City’s 3 districts.
